Feta is the most famous Greek cheese worldwide but it’s not the only one produced by the Greeks. The country has a vast tradition in cheese-making and one can find many kinds of cheeses like hard ones, spicy, salty, or sweeter ones, etc.
We have chosen for you some typical samples of the Greek dairy industry and besides the “queen” of Greek cheeses that is the Feta cheese, we have brought for you some other kinds like the Kefalotyri, The Graviera, the Kaseri (PDO), the Kegalograviera (PDO) – a kind of spicy Graviera, some organic cheeses as well as Halloumi from Cyprus and other ones.
From time to time you can also find cheeses of a smaller production. Their presence in our store is not as frequent because of the limited quantities produced. Cheeses in this category include the smoked “Metsovone” (coming from the small town of Metsovo in Epirus), the “Melihloro” from the island of Lemnos but also a black truffle flavored Graviera, the “San Mihali” from Syros, or even the first-ever Greek blue cheese made with goat’s milk etc…
