Greek medium beans (400g) – Arosis
These medium beans are a Greek variety of high quality, thin-skinned and very easy to prepare (short boiling time) beans, due to the unique combination of micro climate, soil composition, and traditional farming techniques used (Certified cultivation under the Integrated Management Crop system). The beans are grown in small family farms, located around the Vegoritida lake, in Amynteon, Northern Greece. Farmers follow traditional cultivation methods with lot of manual work throughout the process of growing.
The climate is influenced by its geographical position and altitude (about 540m to 600m) and, in combination with the great mountains and lake, it is purely continental, with cold winters, high precipitation and fine snow. The average annual temperature of 11,5°C positively affects the micro climate of the neighboring areas, providing milder conditions during the winter. The mild local climate, fertile soils of the drained part of the lake, and the small family farmings favor the cultivation of medium beans, giving them their distinctive quality.
It is no wonder the medium beans’ premium quality goes beyond anything mass-produced you have ever tried. Arosis is proud to call these beans “their own” because they embody their philosophy: to always produce goods of value, the right way, at the right time.
